All of us have likely had times where God is calling us to or spoken to our hearts something that seems impossible. Perhaps we are facing such a time right now. We know God is challenging us to cross into our promised land and receive something He has said will be ours. There is just one problem.. there are giants in the land. We can often expect God to fulfill the promise the way we think it should go. He should drive the giants out first right? But remember God never said that the Israelites would walk into an empty land. He said it would be flowing with milk and honey. He also said that they would drive out the people who were there. I often think about the men who were sent to spy out the land. What were they expecting? Did they have faith that God was with them? Did they set their eyes on who God is or were they looking to themselves. Numbers 13:33 answers this when they report back they liken themselves to grasshoppers in their own sight and in comparison. But there was Caleb and he saw it differently. “Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.” Numbers 13:30 Caleb knew that God was for them and that He would fulfill the promise. He also knew that God could have cleared out the land by his own hand but He was asking them to partner in the victory. He wanted them to see and experience that He was with them and with Him there was nothing that was impossible. If you are waiting for your promised land or you feel God has spoken something to you raise your expectations beyond the level of the giants in the land to the God who loves you. Ask Him how to partner with Him to take the land.
