Living Waters

I have always been drawn to the water. As a young person I grew up on a large lake and spent many hours either in or on the water. I loved spending hours swimming and as a young girl would often imagine that I was a mermaid totally immersed in my underwater world. I love how the sunshine sparkles like diamonds off the surface and how the beams of the sun pierced the surface illuminating the wonders below. However more than anything I loved the feel of it as I would glide through it. Even now when I visit the pool to exercise the feel of the water strikes me. It is almost as if a deep cleansing breath has filled my lungs. There is something vibrant about it. Because of my love for water, when I read the passage below it resonated with me. Even though I love the physical experience of being in the water I love so much more being in His presence. He truly does provide living water to our soul. As we immerse ourselves in relationship with Him He gives of himself to us. It is so much more than the vibrant feeling I experience in earthly water. It is a deep soul quenching experience that fills and overflows my life. My heart refuses to pull back and just as I would strive to hold my breath and remain in my underwater world as a young girl I press on to be surrounded by His living water for my soul. If you are yearning for something more in life, facing a challenge or trial take the plunge into His presence and you will find the living waters flooding your soul. He desires so much to give refreshing to us and to overwhelm us with His abundant love. “but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”” ‭‭John‬ ‭4:14‬ ‭
