Releasing Your Spirit

Satan cannot create a new weapon he merely tries to reorder our focus. He tries to get us focused on earning the gifts so we can be acceptable to God. The proper order is that the you are already acceptable to God. You can never earn more love or favor because He has already given you everything you need for life and godliness. You don’t need to be better to walk in His gifts. He gave us the gift already we just need to open it. If you have accepted the gift of salvation through Jesus’ death on the cross then you just need to learn how to use the gifts you already have been given.

You are complete in Him. As He was in the earth so are we. The Holy Spirit lives in us and guides us to walk as His stewards in the earth. How amazing is this? We received a gift that allows us to be with God forever in eternity AND empowers us to live life here in His abundance. He restored every covenant blessing that He made for us in the garden! All we gave to do is say yes.

So how do we walk in this? First we need to renew our minds with His word. Satan will continually try to get us focused on earning rather than releasing.

“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Second we need to know His word so that we know all that we have authority to use.

“that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Finally we need ask the Holy Spirit to guide us. By doing these things we stir up the gift of the spirit with us. When we approach things from the perspective that God is working through us and it is His power in us that is moving it no longer becomes based on our ability but on His truth.

“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”

‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
