Have you ever heard people say that you can be so heavenly minded you are no earthly good? I believe the first part of this “catch phrase” is exactly how we should be. As believers we belong to a different kingdom. We should be so consumed with the things of heaven that they rub off kingdom life on the world around us. Unfortunately, often we spend too much time letting the circumstances around us be our focus. I know the world seems to be going crazy and there is all sorts of chaos but the solution to the world’s problems is supposed to be the church. How can we impact the world when we believe we are fighting and losing an uphill battle?
Psalm 34:17-19 says “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
There is nothing that we face that He has not already overcome.
Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Let’s turn our eyes to Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith. Let’s lift our eyes to the Lion of the Tribe of Judah and marvel at His victory. Let us be like Him in that we are about our Father’s business. The world is lost and hurting. People are seeking answers that only the church has. Let’s be Heavenly minded.
