The Silent War

Each life has challenges and we all confront them differently. It may seem like some challenges are harder than others but I don’t necessarily see it that way. As a cancer patient it may seem like I have a large challenge physically but I think the greater battle is the silent war. It’s what goes on in the still moments when we are exhausted and weary. Because of that I think my challenge is not harder than anyone else’s it’s just different.

The physical challenges of a cancer battle are hard and yet I am very aware that I am abundantly blessed by His grace and strength to overcome them. I am so thankful that I have a Father in Heaven who not only sees the physical battles but He knows the battles faced in silence. The moments when my spirit is weary. Those moments when I feel disconnected and isolated. Those moments when I look at how my life has seemingly been limited and the enemy tries to discourage.

Whether you are facing a health challenge or any other sort of life challenge you probably know the moments I am talking about. We all face them regardless of the circumstances in our lives. Sometimes it seems the battle is deafening and we can feel that no one sees what is going on. We can feel totally alone even standing in a room full of people but those feelings are not the truth.

I’m writing this tonight to remind us of the truth. We are never alone! God never forsakes us! His love endures forever! His faithfulness has no end! If you find yourself being caught up in a battle don’t let the silent moments be filled by the enemies lies. Instead lean into His presence and dwell in His truth and the silence will begin turn the battle tide. He always sends us reminders that He is with us. Use the silence to dwell on those reminders. Even the smallest and most simple carry to power to break the enemy’s lies.

This past week has been such a time for me. Tonight the enemy wanted me to feel sad, isolated and alone. Instead I am sitting in the silence thanking Him for the messages He sent my way through various people to stir my spirit and remind me that He sees me, knows me and is always there loving me even when my feelings say differently.

I just wanted to share this in case someone else is battling a silent war and to remind you that He has won your victory! He has paid for and given you access to His unending love.
